Call for abstracts

The “thematic” section of this third edition focuses on Successful Case Studies of eScience/eResearch Projects in Europe and globally.

Zero-In showcases the research and development activities in the world of e-Infrastructures and is a forum for news, comment and analysis on this exciting new research paradigm.

The audiences of the publication include national and international policy makers as well as key projects and individuals using or developing e-Infrastructures across the world. Zero-In was launched in January2009. Each issue of Zero-In has a “thematic” section, a feature on “insights from the global virtual research community”, and a ‘diary’ section for news.  For further information on the previous editions please visit: www.beliefproject.org/media-corner/e-magazine

The “thematic” section of this third edition focuses on Successful Case Studies of eScience/eResearch Projects in Europe and globally.

For this third issue the BELIEF Editorial Team has welcomed articles on the following topics, split into these three sections:


Thematic:

  • Articles from Europe and from overseas countries focusing on Successful Case Studies of eScience/eResearch Projects in Europe and globally.


Insights:

  • 1 article focusing on Engaging Emerging Economies: outreach strategies for greater adoption
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Sustainability strategies and policies
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Culture, Arts and Humanities Applications
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Development
  • 1 article focusing on Security and Certification in e-Infrastructure applications
  • 1 article focusing on Standards

Diary:
•    e-Infrastructure News and Events are welcome for the diary section! Feel free to send them to info@beliefproject.org to be included in the next publication. Deadline 5th of September.

Prospective authors were invited to submit an expression of interest by sending a short abstract (approximately 100 words) reporting recent developments and opinions, analysis and visions in the field of e-Infrastructures for the section choosen. When submitting their abstract, they were invited to make clear which section they would like  each article to feature in. 
 
The Review Panel coordinated the selection of the abstracts and, once accepted, authors will be notified and invited to send the full papers. These will be evaluated by the Review Panel which may request any eventual adjustments by the authors.

Submission Requirements:

  • Abstracts should be 100 words in length and submitted online
  • Once your abstract is accepted, corresponding final papers should be no more than 700-750 words in length and submitted to info@beliefproject.org
  • Final articles should include further details for readers to go into more depth on the topic, such as published
  • Final submitted papers should be written in English. They should include 5-10 keywords
  • Contributions should not have been previously published. 
  • Note that our readers prefer accessible analysis, opinions and outlines of projects’ value, rather than technical project descriptions.


Important Dates:

  • Abstract acceptance notification deadline: August 7th 2009
  • Full papers submission deadline: September 5th 2009
