First announcement of the 6th European Conference on Research Infrastructures (ECRI2010)

The event will take place in Barcelona on the 23-24 March 2010

The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the European Commission organize the 6th European Conference on Research Infrastructures (ECRI2010) that will be held in Barcelona on 23-24 March 2010, under the auspices of the Spanish EU Council Presidency.

The Conference aims at fostering discussion on the European strategy for Research Infrastructures (RIs) and on the decision making process to enable the implementation of the ESFRI Roadmap. Management and financial issues, along with the governance structures of these RIs within the European Research Area (ERA), will be addressed. A specific session devoted to future key challenges on e-Infrastructures for Science will also take place.

ECRI2010 will be a forum for discussion of stakeholder's best practices ideas regarding facilities management and more efficient ways to conduct future actions.

The Conference will be organized around eight plenary sessions, opening and closing included. Each working session will consist of a keynote speech, followed by short interventions from speakers. Key themes of ECRI2010 will include the following topics:

    * The European strategy for RIs
    * Prioritization of research infrastructures
    * Political decision making
    * E-Infrastructure for Science
    * Management and financial issues
    * The governance and future RIs in ERA

In recognition of the participant's involvement in research infrastructures, attendance will be by invitation only. Would it be the case, we advise you to already pencil the dates of 23-24 March 2010 in your calendar!
