Context and Objectives

 

The 7th e-Infrastructure Concertation Meeting was organised by the Commission Services with the support of the BELIEF-II project.

This event brought together over 150 key players of the e-Infrastructures' community in order to take stock of the current developments and to discuss the future orientations. The ultimate aim was to develop world-class e-Infrastructures as part of a strategy to achieve European leadership in e-Science.

More specifically this Concertation Meeting addressed:

  • Commission policy on e-Infrastructures and e-Science, including the follow up to the "ICT INFRASTRUCTURES FOR e-SCIENCE" Communication;
  • New e-Infrastructures projects emerging from "Research Infrastructures" calls 4 and 5 of the FP7 Capacities programme;
  • Challenges in developing data infrastructures for e-Science;
  • Inputs to the 2011 Workprogramme on e-Infrastructures;
  • Overview of the e-Science services portfolio of today and tomorrow's outlooks;
  • Specific needs of ESFRI projects, following up on previous events (EGEE conference sept. 2009)

  • e-Infrastructures projects;
  • European Research Infrastructures Organisations;
  • Standardisation fora (e.g., ETSI, OGF);
  • National representatives of NRNs, NGIs, Ministries and Funding Agencies of Member States and Associated.
