5th e-Infrastructure Concertation Meeting
e-Infrastructures as standardisation drivers

The 5th e-Infrastructure Concertation meeting was organised by the Commission Services, with the support of the BELIEF-II project and with the active participation of all the projects in the e-Infrastructures area.
Devised as a follow-up of the 4th e-Infrastructure Concertation meeting, which took place at ETSI in Sophia Antipolis in December 2007, the event focused again on standards and was collocated with the meeting of the Open Grid Forum (OGF).
More specifically, the event:
EU e-Infrastructure project representatives (as well as project-representatives from other EU-funded related research areas); ETSI and OGF key area representatives and invited delegates; delegates from other standardisation fora.
Given the space limitations, a maximum number of two participants per e-Infrastructure project are were present.
The participation to the works of the event was free of charge;

- Reinforced and extended the efforts launched in Sophia Antipolis on the cooperation between the major standard bodies and EU-funded projects for the effective development and wider use of EU e-Infrastructure;
- Reviewed the progress on standardisation activities of the e-Infrastructure projects and stimulated further the exchange of experiences (success stories, use cases etc.) and results achieved;
- Intensified and optimised human interaction and synergies among projects in order to facilitate production, deployment and use of standards;
- Facilitated the integration of the projects that resulted from the 2nd FP7-RI Call within the existing space of e-Infrastructure projects;
- Reinforced further Europe's active role in the international cooperation with emphasis on infrastructure interoperability and standards and accelerated the adoption of common e-Infrastructuresrelated standards worldwide;
