Distributed Data Management for Creative Industries

The growing use of digital technology in creative media has brought about a huge increase in data requirements during all stages of production. Large computational resources are needed to render images for animation and special effects. Similar computational requirements are now being seen across the media industry.
The one-day workshop on Distributed Data Management for Creative Industries explores the challenges and requirements for large-scale data management in post-production and broadcast media. Focused talks seek to raise awareness of existing standards, tools and techniques, while bringing to the fore potential funding opportunities in this key sector for Europe.
The event targets computing experts with an interest in large-scale rendering and service infrastructures, typically from creative industries, as well as anyone interested in exploring the issues facing the industry and potential solutions.
Registration: free of charge. Lunch and refreshments provided.
