Zero-In Magazine: Building Insights; Breaking Boundaries
BELIEF-II publishes the Zero-In eMagazine whose aim is to showcase and widely disseminate the results of research and development activities that are currently taking place in the world of e-Infrastructures. The title is inspired by the concept of the Zero distance neighbourhood of global research.
The audiences of the publication include national and international policy makers as well as key projects and individuals using or developing e-Infrastructures across the world.
The inaugural issue of Zero-In is planned for December 2008. Each issue of Zero-In will present a “thematic” section and a section featuring “insights from the global virtual research community”.
The thematic section of the first edition will focus on Distance Learning/Education and training as an e-Infrastructures application. The call for abstract is now open!
Thematic:
- 6 articles (3 from Europe and 3 from oversees countries) focusing on e-Infrastructures application of Distance Learning/Education and training
Insights:
- 1 article focusing on eScience
- 1 article focusing on eBusiness
- 1 article focusing on eSociety
- 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructure technology issues
- 1 article focusing on Standards

Submission Requirements:
- Abstracts are to be 30-50 words, submitted online here
- Once your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to write the full article, which should be no more than 700 words in length and submitted to info@beliefproject.org
- Final articles should include further details for readers to go into more depth on the topic.
- Final Submitted papers should be written in English, according to the IEEE Computer Society Style Guide. They should include 5-10 keywords
- Contributions should not have been previously published.
Important Dates:
- Abstract submission deadline: 29 September
- Abstract acceptance notification deadline: 20 October
- Full papers submission deadline: 7 November
Potential authors are invited to submit an expression of interest by submitting a short abstract (approximately 30-50 words) reporting recent developments and opinions, analysis and visions for the section you choose. When submitting your abstract, please make clear which section you would like it to feature in.
The Review Panel will coordinate the selection of the abstracts and, once accepted, authors will be notified and invited to send the full papers. These will be evaluated by the Review Panel which may request any eventual adjustments by the authors.
