BalticGrid-II
The BalticGrid project is designed to increase the impact, adoption and reach, and to further improve the support of services and users of the recently created e-Infrastructure in the Baltic States. This will be achieved by an extension of the BalticGrid infrastructure to Belarus; interoperation of the gLite-based infrastructure with UNICORE and ARC based Grid resources in the region; identifying and addressing the specific needs of new scientific communities such as nano-science and engineering sciences; and by establishing new Grid services for linguistic research, Baltic Sea environmental research, data mining tools for communication modelling and bioinformatics. DIESIS - Design of an interoperable European federated simulation network for critical infrastructures
DIESIS proposes to establish the basis for a European modelling and simulation e-Infrastructure based upon open standards to foster and support research on all aspects of critical infrastructures with a specific focus on their protection. DIESIS will perform a thorough conceptual design study in order to prepare the establishment of such a research e-Infrastructure. D4Science - DIstributed colLaboratories infrastructure on Grid enabled technology 4 science
The main objective of this project is to deploy the e-Infrastructures built so far by the EGEE and DILIGENT projects so that they address the needs of several new scientific communities affiliated with the broad disciplines of Environmental Monitoring and Fishery Resource Management. These e-Infrastructures, which offer mechanisms that concurrently exploit networks, grids, and data in a seamless fashion, will enable scientific communities to operate within a coherent pan-European model, regardless of the location of their research facilities. EGI_DS - European grid initiative design study
The EGI Design Study represents a project for the conceptual setup and operation of a new organizational model of a sustainable pan-European grid infrastructure. The project will address key questions concerning the assessment of technical and financial feasibility of such a sustainable grid service, producing a "conceptual design report" addressed at member state policy makers and funding agencies. The project will interact and encourage the member states to make the strategic decisions required to establish and support a sustainable grid infrastructure, and initiate its implementation. DORII - Deployment of remote instrumentation infrastructure
The DORII project aims to deploy e-Infrastructure for new scientific communities, where on the one hand the ICT technology is still not present at the appropriate level, but on the other hand it is demanded to empower its daily work. We deal with a group of scientific users, and this is a reference for DORII, with experimental equipment and instrumentation that are not integrated or integrated only partially with the European infrastructure.
