6CHOICE project
The 6CHOICE project will strengthen co-operation between the research communities in India and Europe dealing with research networks (ERNET/GÉANT), Grid connectivity and services. Th e focus is especially on the promotion of the Next Generation Internet Protocol: IPv6. Th e IPv6 technology is ready for deployment, and India has been targeted as being one of the fi rst countries with the potential of adopting political directives to implement this new protocol nationwide. 6CHOICE will promote the use of this technology across Europe and India as a fundamental part of their research infrastructures. 6DEPLOY project
The purpose of the 6DEPLOY project is to support the deployment of IPv6 in (i) e-Infrastructure environments, (ii) FP7 projects, (iii) developing countries (Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe), and (iv) industrial environments in Europe. Partners offer basic training to organisations in Europe and developing countries, and support real IPv6 deployments. roject website: www.6deploy.org Click on the link below to access the project documents available in the DL
BalticGrid-II
The BalticGrid project is designed to increase the impact, adoption and reach, and to further improve the support of services and users of the recently created e-Infrastructure in the Baltic States. This will be achieved by an extension of the BalticGrid infrastructure to Belarus; interoperation of the gLite-based infrastructure with UNICORE and ARC based Grid resources in the region; identifying and addressing the specific needs of new scientific communities such as nano-science and engineering sciences; and by establishing new Grid services for linguistic research, Baltic Sea environmental research, data mining tools for communication modelling and bioinformatics. BSI - Black Sea Interconnection
The BSI (Black Sea Interconnection) project intends bridging the digital divide that exists between the South Caucasus countries and Europe by establishing a regional research and education network (NREN) in the South Caucasus and connecting it to GÉANT2. Th e project will develop a high-speed backbone network among the NRENs of the South Caucasus countries and enable connectivity to the pan-European GÉANT2 network. In addition, operational support will be supplied from the partners to achieve the sustainability of the network. D4Science - DIstributed colLaboratories infrastructure on Grid enabled technology 4 science
The main objective of this project is to deploy the e-Infrastructures built so far by the EGEE and DILIGENT projects so that they address the needs of several new scientific communities affiliated with the broad disciplines of Environmental Monitoring and Fishery Resource Management. These e-Infrastructures, which offer mechanisms that concurrently exploit networks, grids, and data in a seamless fashion, will enable scientific communities to operate within a coherent pan-European model, regardless of the location of their research facilities.
