International Networking e-Infrastructures in Europe

GÉANT2 - It forms the pan-European backbone of a “network of networks” across Europe, spanning the breadth of the continent from Ireland in the west to Russia in the east and from Iceland in the north to Israel in the south. Directly connected to GÉANT2 are 30 European National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) which provide connectivity to a total of 34 countries (by the means of connections with ALICE Network, EUMEDCONNECT network, TEIN2 Network, SEEREN2 network. SEEREN2 - SEEREN2 aims at creating the next generation of the southeast European segment of GÉANT, that intends to make leading-edge technologies and services available to the entire Research and Education communities and all scientific sectors without discrimination between users and sites in southeast Europe in an attempt to further ease the 'digital divide' that still separates most of the SE European countries from the rest of the continent. Connected countries:Albania,Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro.
