International Networking e-Infrastructures in Asia

TEIN2  - (Trans-Eurasia Information Network) is the first large-scale research and education network for the Asia-Pacific. It connects ten countries in the region, and provides direct connectivity to Europe’s GÉANT2 network. Geographical coverage: Australia (AU), China (CN), Hong Kong (HL), Indonesia (ID), Japan (JP), Korea (KR), Malaysia (MY), The Philippines (PH), Singapore (SG), Thailnad (TH), Vietnam (VN).

APAN - (Asia Pacific Advanced Network) is designed to be a high-performance network for research and development on advanced next generation applications and services. APAN provides an advanced networking environment for the research and education community in the Asia-Pacific region, and promotes global collaboration.Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam.

Garuda - The National Grid Computing Initiative of India connects the most important Indian Research Centres in Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Roorkee, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi.

Sinet3 - The Science Information network (SINET3) was estalished to promote the distribution of educational and research information among universities and research organizations throughout Japan. SINET2 connected over 8000 universities and research organizations. The networks is also connected to research networks in Europe, the United States, and Asia to facilitate international dissemination of research information and to promote collaboration with research networks overseas
