The 2nd Special Session on Security & Privacy in Pervasive Computing environments (SPPC-09)

The integration of advanced wireless technology and internet tends to increase connections of computing devices. Because pervasive computing environments (PC) make people get accustomed to computing, they naturally forget the fact that they are using computers. Rather, smart devices around offer them services such as user location information, user situation, and user data maintenance/management. In order to achieve these purposes, various aspects should be integrated from hardware and networks to operating systems, middlewares, user interfaces, and applications. However, in a pervasive computing environment, security problems and privacy concerns such as personal information outflows should be considered. Under these pervasive environments, an information security management system and diverse security technologies are required for technical security and personal information protection. The aim of this special session is to bring together the researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of Information Technology.

SPCC-09 is a successor of the 2008 Special Session on Security & Privacy in Pervasive Computing environments (SPCC-08, Busan, Korea, April 2008). http://www.sersc.org/ISA2008/SPPC2008/
